Altair Welfare Reform Product Descriptions

1. Welfare Reform Briefings and Training for Board Members, Senior Management Teams and Employee Groups

Altair has in-depth and up to date knowledge of the whole Welfare Reform agenda with particular insight into how it will impact upon landlords of affordable housing and tenants of all housing sectors.

Altair can provide tailored briefings, discussion workshops and traditional training courses for all levels of your organisation.

A typical session will:
– Bring participants up to speed on Government thinking and the current status of the Bill
– Set out the detail of the proposals and who will be affected
– Facilitate a discussion on the likely impact on your organisation and prompt consideration of the strategic and operational issues that arise as a result.

2. Financial Modelling of the impact of the impending welfare reform changes

Altair has in-depth and up to date knowledge of the whole Welfare Reform agenda with particular insight into how it will impact upon landlords of affordable housing and tenants of all housing sectors.

Altair has developed a financial modelling tool to analyse and risk assess the impact of the impending changes. With basic information about tenants’ household composition, income and property size, Altair can assess the impact of the main changes in the Bill and who will be hit the hardest. The output will identify the overall cumulative impact of each of the main individual welfare reform proposals that affect social housing tenants.

Altair will then work with clients to address the strategic considerations that arise from the initial analysis and will devise a risk assessment model with mitigating actions and test this with client representatives. The results from the risk assessment will be moderated using Altair’s knowledge of best practice in the field, out of which a draft strategy will be developed for the client to prepare itself and its tenants for the coming changes.

Altair can also offer further assistance with any change programmes or redesign of services that may be required as a result of the strategic review.
