Altair was set up in February 2011 and is managed by four partners, Dr Fiona Underwood, Steve Douglas, Susan Kane and Chris Wood, all of whom have held senior positions in their respective fields. Altair has grown significantly since it was initially set up and now employs around 35 full time employees, with a wider team of associates.

We are known for being a high-quality consultancy that works with organisations that govern, manage, regulate or build housing. Our clients are predominantly organisations which are in some way involved with the UK housing sector. This mainly includes housing associations and local authorities, but also private developers and contractors.

About the role

As part of our growth we are now looking for a Principal Consultant to join to help grow our HR offering to clients.  This appointment represents our next phase of growth following an amazing six and a half years in which we have established ourselves as one of the leading sector consultancies.

We are looking for an ambitious, target focused individual who is a human resource expert and has experience in either the housing or consultancy environment. You will also have a commitment to adding value to our clients through the delivery of high quality consultancy work. You will be intellectually agile, self-motivated, able to deal with a range of competing demands and willing to take responsibility for your own workload and development. You will also have an active interest in our clients’ sectors and the work we deliver for our clients.

This is an exciting role where no two projects are the same. We advise clients on the full range of HR activities including; HR strategy, remuneration and reward, employee relations, change management, learning and development etc. You will also have an opportunity to work across our other product areas including Strategy and Change, Governance and Recruitment and Interims.

The role also incorporates responsibilities of being our HR Product Lead, providing you with the opportunity to lead on shaping the way we develop our HR product over the coming years.
