Jeff is the chair of Altair. He has worked in housing and regeneration for most of his career. He has significant experience of working directly for housing associations and local authorities as well as advising them as an independent consultant.
Jeff was a director at the successful housing consultancy HACAS Chapman Hendy before it was bought by Tribal Group, where it became a major subsidiary. At Tribal, Jeff remained as a non-executive chair of the group's housing practice, before leaving in 2006.
As a consultant, Jeff developed significant experience advising clients on a wide range of issues, such as the funding and delivery of major investment projects. He is one the sector's leading thinkers and has published a number of books and papers on issues ranging from regulation to PFI projects.
Jeff now holds a range of non-executive positions including:
The chair of TIAA, the internal audit and business assurance company
A council-nominated board member of Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation
A trustee of CALM, a mediation and restorative justice charity.
He was an NHS Primary Care Trust chair for five years, chair of Soho Housing Association for six years and a board member of the Hammersmith and Fulham ALMO for three years.
