New faces, new projects

David Mairs_Andy BallardAs part of our immediate growth plans we are delighted that Andy Ballard and David Mairs have joined us as Associate Directors to add to our strategy and governance and Finance and Treasury expertise. Andy is an experienced Lawyer and governance expert and has worked extensively in the sector, particularly across the Midlands. David has over 30 years’ experience of the City and corporate treasury management. He has worked on some of the most complex financing propositions in the sector and undertaken due diligence on a significant number of mergers.

Biographies for these two and all of our staff and key associates can be found here.

Our range of clients and projects also continues to grow. Our work with housing associations is well established. Our work with Local authorities now includes the development of the wholly owned development vehicle, Red Door Ventures for Newham Council; working with LB Ealing on a wholly owned new rented homes subsidiary; and our work with other sectors includes advising a number of ALMOs and private sector organisations on new approaches to development, as well as understanding the expectations of the regulator.

As organisations completely rethink the way they do business, we are also undertaking whole organisation service reviews and with CityWest Homes are supporting a major customer contact transformation project. In addition to our work on governance and strategy – supporting boards and executives; and helping organisations to stress test business plans and prepare for increased levels of scrutiny and assurance – including mock In depth Assessments and assisting on FFR reporting; we are now increasingly helping organisations to influence policy agendas, develop best practice and to deliver efficiencies – rather than just diagnosing the issue. Take a look at our support for a group of northern Housing associations on the regional impacts of the Right To Buy Extension.

It’s challenging times for the housing sector but our increased capacity will ensure that we continue to be well placed to support your needs. Do always feel free to come and talk to us.
