Emma Ahmed has joined Altair International from Reall to execute ambitious growth in Asia
As part of our ambitious growth plans for Altair International, we are delighted to announce that Director Emma Ahmed has joined our Altair International consultancy team to lead our work in Asia.
Altair International provides specialist consultancy advice on interventions to enhance the provision of affordable housing in developing countries. This is a significant arm of Aquila Services Group Plc whose mission is to create a better, sustainable, and socially responsible world.
Emma brings over 13 years’ experience developing affordable housing financed by the European Commission, the Asian Development Bank, The World Bank, Sida and FCDO. She has been responsible for investment origination in green affordable housing ecosystem businesses and projects across Asia and Africa, successfully building an investable pipeline of £500M commercially viable impact investment opportunities and overseeing a live portfolio of investments of £60M. Most recently Emma was Director of Sustainable Housing Futures at Reall.
Emma’s track record of success in sustainable urban development in Asia will support the expansion of Altair International into Asia, building on our recent pursuit of opportunities in Pakistan and past assignments in India, and Emma is ready to hit the ground running:
“I am excited to get to know everyone at Altair and start working with Olu and colleagues on our growth strategy for Asia. My work at Reall in Africa and Asia was predominantly focused on international development and successfully growing social enterprises. I also have an in-depth specialism in South Asia and many useful connections, so I am delighted to use this knowledge to support Altair to accelerate the growth of their services in this part of the world.”
Director Olu Olanrewaju commented:
“Our recent success has included assignments in Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya and Cameroon for the World Bank, KFW, and national governments. There is so much opportunity to support affordable housing initiatives worldwide and I am looking forward to working with Emma as she grows our operations in Asia. We have big plans to grow our international service as we are uniquely positioned because our core business is the provision of affordable housing and urban infrastructure advisory services. So, we are able to offer existing and new clients a one-stop shop to meet their differing needs ranging from housing market analysis, development of interventions, and housing finance to institutional strengthening. Emma’s experience and networks will be a huge asset. Welcome on board Emma!”
The addition of Emma is a key step in growing a strong network of associates to complement our in-house international expertise. As part of this growth, we are keen to speak to any individuals who would like to be a part of the team – either on an employee or associate basis. Please send your CV to Emma or Olu directly.
