Jim Lashmar, Practice Director – Corporate Finance, Treasury and Viability
Jim Lashmar has recently been appointed Practice Director for Altair’s Corporate Finance, Treasury and Viability Practice Area. He leads a specialist practice supporting organisations to achieve long-term financial resilience through corporate finance, treasury strategy, financial planning, procurement and viability analysis.
Jim brings over 25 years’ experience as a consultant and senior finance leader across the housing and local authority sectors. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he has extensive expertise in treasury and funding, strategic and development business planning, merger and pre-merger planning, due diligence, development feasibility modelling and financial viability assessment.
He provides strategic financial advice to Boards, supporting organisations with in-depth assessment preparation, merger planning and new registrations. Jim also delivers financial training to Boards, helping to strengthen financial governance and oversight.
Jim’s recent Altair assignments include delivering treasury strategies and funding option appraisals for medium-sized Registered Providers, undertaking financial viability reviews on behalf of regulatory bodies, and providing in-depth inspection preparation and mock assessments. He has also acted as Interim Finance Director for one of the largest housing associations in Wales for a two-year period, and has advised Registered Social Landlords in Scotland, working closely with the Scottish Housing Regulator.
As Practice Director, Jim shapes the development of Altair’s Corporate Finance, Treasury and Viability practice and oversees delivery across the sector. The team brings together specialist expertise to support Boards and executive teams with regulatory compliance, financial resilience and long-term strategic planning.
