Jo-Anne Morgan – Practice Director, Governance, Risk and Regulation

Jo‑Anne Morgan is Practice Director for Governance, Risk and Regulation at Altair, where she leads a specialist practice supporting Boards and executive teams to strengthen governance, manage risk effectively and navigate complex regulatory environments. 

With over 11 years at Altair and extensive experience across the social housing sector as both a consultant and internal auditor, Jo‑Anne is a recognised specialist in governance, regulation and board effectiveness. She is trusted by Chairs, Boards and executive teams to provide clear, practical advice in high risk and high-pressure contexts, including regulatory re‑grades, inspections, investigations and merger activity. 

Jo‑Anne’s work spans governance reviews, regulatory preparedness, risk and assurance frameworks, mergers and acquisitions and Board recruitment. She is particularly known for helping organisations translate regulatory expectations into proportionate, effective governance arrangements that support confident decision‑making and long‑term resilience. 

As Practice Director, Jo‑Anne shapes the development of Altair’s Governance, Risk and Regulation offer and oversees delivery across the sector, combining deep sector insight with strong people leadership. She brings a pragmatic, trusted advisor approach, grounded in professional judgement, integrity and a clear understanding of how Boards need to operate effectively in an increasingly complex environment. 

Jo‑Anne leads a multidisciplinary Governance, Risk and Regulation Practice drawing on deep expertise across governance, risk, regulation and assurance. Together, the team supports organisations through both business-as-usual governance and periods of heightened risk, providing trusted advice, clear assurance and practical support to enable strong, effective leadership in an increasingly complex environment. Jo-Anne also works closely with Altair’s wider capability in strategy, community impact and fundraising to support organisations in delivering both regulatory compliance and social value.
