Altair commissioned to lead strategic planning activity of EuroHockey’s member nations

Through a range of consultations, Altair managed to lead Eurohockey's initial assessment of strategic planning activity at all its member National Associations. Using the results from the assessment, Altair plans to kickstart a wider programme of National Association to help Eurohockey expand across Europe and therefore make sustainably impactful schemes throughout.

About the project

The European Hockey Federation is the umbrella organisation for all 42 European National Associations for field hockey. Based in Brussels, EuroHockey develops, promotes, administers and supports all levels of hockey throughout Europe.
Altair were commissioned to lead EuroHockey’s initial assessment of strategic planning activity at all its member National Associations. This assessment was delivered through a series of consultations to gather a range of insight on the topic of strategy – such as how to make this process effective, challenges experienced to date, and appetite for future strategy support. This insight was gathered through engaging with national association members as part of development committee meetings, and through focus groups with other stakeholder groups, such as board members, athletes, coaches and officials.

Results

Following this initial assessment, EuroHockey will use this insight to kickstart a wider programme of National Association strategy support from 2024. Through this programme, EuroHockey’s long-term aim is to develop across Europe, achieving this through the delivery of impactful and sustainable plans at each of its member nations.
