CAFE commissioned Altair to develop a combined organisational strategy and income generation plan

Altair has worked closely with CAFE to help them design organisational structures and carry out organisational re-modelling that aided in the transition from being entirely externally funded, to becoming a membership organisation.

About the project

New vision and mission statements were at the heart of the project, as well as a brand-new organisational model – moving away from being solely externally funded, to becoming a membership organisation. Moving to this model secured both their financial sustainability and ability to scale their impact more effectively. Altair worked closely with the CAFE team to explore all available options for organisational re-modelling, providing them with the key risks, opportunities, and operational considerations.

We also helped them develop objectives, income forecasts, and implementation plans to support the delivery of the strategy. The project was successfully completed in May 2023.

"Altair were an absolute pleasure to work. They came highly recommended by a number of international NGOs and they certainly lived up to their praise. We came to them with a complex but exciting request and they went above and beyond to listen and to engage with as many of our stakeholders as possible in order to understand who we are, what resources we currently have and where we could and should go in the future. They have a great knowledge of the charity sector and of different and innovative ways to generate income. They picked up very quickly the nuances of how we work within the sport sector as an international NGO based in the UK, the key stakeholders involved and the activities we carry out. The enthusiasm for what we do at CAFE from team at Altair was evident throughout, and at the same time they were professional, flexible and ready to go the extra mile. They were committed to making sure we had the tools and contacts to thrive as we embark on the next stage of our journey."
