Using smart governance tools to improve and measure board effectiveness

About the project
Within the new NHF Code of Governance and the Social Housing White Paper there is an opportunity for organisations and their boards to continue to build resilience and support their organisations to thrive.
As part of our external governance review in 2021 and to support Beyond Housing to respond to these challenges, we utilised our smart governance solutions, Digi-ScoreBoard and Altair Aptitude. The outputs have since allowed Beyond’s Board and Governance Team to continually manage the complexities they face within the governance environment.

Results
Our online smart tool, Digi-ScoreBoard, provided a clear review of board effectiveness and compliance with the NHF Code of Governance and highlighted areas of strength and further development. By combining a robust digital platform with Altair’s in-depth knowledge of governance in housing, Beyond Housing will have an effective and efficient method to review, improve and measure governance effectiveness.
Altair understands the ongoing uncertainty that boards and executive teams face when responding to the strategic implications of the political, social, regulatory and economic landscape. In addition, the utilisation of Altair Aptitude has enabled us to intelligently plan and identify future skill, competency and diversity gaps, all key elements when considering future succession planning.
