About the role

The Group Customer Services Director position is a new role, created to strengthen Aster’s strategic customer focus and provide both the Executive and the Overlap Boards with an exciting vision for our customers. The postholder will embed the importance of our service offer at the highest levels of the business, as well as ensure that Aster has a long-term sustainable infrastructure to deliver even easier access to an effective and supportive service to our customers.

The postholder will lead a team of over 700 people with responsibility for income of c£170M pa of rent and service charge income, and budgets of £70M. The new Group Customer Services Directorate will comprise the following principal divisions: housing, customer services, estate management, responsive repairs and related services.

We are looking for a collegiate leader with a passion for excellent customer service as well as strategic vision. Senior management experience of running at least one of the services in the portfolio is essential but technical expertise is secondary to the ability to work across a complex and geographically dispersed, customer facing organisation. Extensive experience of working with boards and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure compliance and deliver objectives is also required, as it a commitment to all aspects of diversity and inclusion for customers and colleagues.
