About

John has worked in the housing sector for over 25 years. John’s first roles in housing included tenant participation and community development, corporate policy, research analyst and Head of service roles in policy, research and planning. Specific projects have included facilitation and design of business strategy and business planning, transformation programmes, regulatory compliance turnaround, development of property option appraisal tools, development of mitigation planning against Bank of England stress test scenarios. John has also authored responses to Government consultations and housing inquiries including the Long-term delivery of social and affordable rented housing and the Decent Homes inquiry.

Prior to joining Altair, John was Director of Strategy, Policy and Research having also held a number of previous roles at Gentoo. John was part of the core deputies Group of Homes for the North which oversaw several influential research projects including the recent Changing Spatial Distribution of Housing Investment and the Role of Housing in the Northern Powerhouse reports. John also co-authored the Housing Investment Appraisal publication as part of the 2004 Asset Management Series for the National Housing Federation. John has spoken on a range of housing topics at CIH regional events, Chamber of Commerce economic and development forums.
