Ian has recently joined the Altair International Development team being able to combine his two passions: Social Housing and Aid.

International Development, particularly in the fields of Supply Chain and Social Housing: Contract Management Audit, Governance, World Bank, UN and IFS compliant procurement, EU and PCR procurement; Housing related contract management, Contract review and drafting, designing solutions to complex Capital programmes.
About Ian
Ian was a British Army Logistics Officer, undertaking 9 operational tours of duty. He has worked in: 2 first tier Local Authorities, as a Director in 3 large Accountancy Houses, as International consultancy. Ian is an active lecturer in Overseas Aid and SMART procurement and has been a visiting lecturer at Cranfield University USA, Africa and Middle East. He has delivered extensively across Sub-Saharan Africa, The Far East and Eastern Europe.
Recent Altair Assignments
He led the ICAI review entitled achieving value for money on overseas aid expenditure. He has very recently been appointed as the subject matter expert in the Government review of ODA funding for the housing of refugees in the UK.
Background
He was elevated to be a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement Supply in 2005. He has twice been formally recognised by the Sovereign by the award of the BEM for Valour in 1981 and was made an OBE in 1992.

Fun Facts
Ian is wise enough to have married a clever woman and daft enough to follow Northampton Saints RFC. Helen, a teacher of Economics, and Ian have a 16-year-old son Finlay and two Labradors. Ian loves sport of any description and walking his dogs.
