About Jess

Predominantly leading on retained work, Jess works across our charity, sport, and education sectors providing trust and foundations expertise and support. With experience in CPD workshop training, just leads organisation upskilling on trust and foundations fundraising as well as bid writing. Jess has worked with clients including United Learning Multi Academy Trust, the Lawn Tennis Association, Living Well UK, and Special Olympics International, bringing a wealth of experience from all sectors. Jess is driven by enabling organisations to deliver socially focused work which have great long-term benefits on communities, and underserved groups.

Background

Before joining Altair, Jess studied at the University of Leicester for four years, gaining degrees in Politics and Sociology BA and Human Rights and Global Ethics MA. Her specialist areas focused on international women’s rights and social development, and women’s advocacy.

Alongside these, she worked as a Wellbeing Officer and Residential Advisor for the University of Leicester, supporting in the development of a wellbeing campaign for students living in University Halls during the global pandemic.

Jess’s passion has always surrounded mental health advocacy so continued this into her role at Altair becoming a mental health first aider to provide support to the team.

Fun Facts

Jess loves a boogie and socialising with friends and is always up for (poorly) singing her karaoke song “dancing in the moonlight”. She loves being outdoors and will take up any opportunity to go for a long walk in the countryside and around Devon.
