Tom Kelly

Tom is a Senior Consultant within the Property team at Altair, delivering a range of consultancy services with an emphasis on Building Safety compliance.

• Project management and contract administration of building safety works including cladding remediation projects, sprinkler and fire alarm installation.
• Overseeing cladding investigation and producing technical reports including external wall investigation reports and feasibility studies.
• Advising on policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations and other legislation.

About Tom

Tom is from a Building Surveying background with experience in client-side and consultancy roles, with his most recent roles focusing on project management of building safety works.

Tom has worked for two G15 housing associations as a project/programme manager delivering multi-million-pound cladding remediation works and the installation of sprinkler, fire detection and alarm, evacuation alert system and compartmentation works.

Within these organisations Tom contributed to developing policies and procedures in line with new regulations including the Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Regulations, and has been involved in the procurement and tendering of building safety works.

Tom also has previous consultancy experience carrying out cladding investigations, preparing technical documents including cladding investigation reports and feasibility studies and project management/contract administration on behalf of clients.

Recent Altair Assignments

Tom is currently supporting a housing association with the preparation of building safety case reports, policy review, data review and gap analysis for a number of high-rise residential buildings in Tower Hamlets.

Fun Facts

Tom loves to travel and recently did a solo trip travelling across Japan and has previously travelled to Southeast Asia and Australia, with South America next on his list with a few European city breaks in-between!

Tom is a real foodie and tries to balance his love for food with keeping active, hitting the gym, hiking, and playing 8 aside football.

Last year Tom completed the national 3 peak challenge in under 24 hours, raising money for a mental health charity local to his hometown in Lancashire.
